Richard Thomas Bower Jr.

Richard Thomas Bower, Jr., 61, of Jeffersonville, IN passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN.

Richard was born on June 10, 1961, in Jeffersonville, IN the son of Richard Thomas Bower Sr. and Wanda Louise Helton Griffin.  He was a former mechanic, tow truck driver, and his favorite job was as a truck driver for Tiger Trucking in New Albany, IN.  Richard raced stock cars for several years under the #15 car and was a two-time Mountain Dew Race Winner and Track Champion back in the 1990’s at the Sportsdrome Speedway in Jeffersonville, IN

Richard is survived by his fiancé and best friend Annette Bartle Bailey of Jeffersonville, IN;  daughter, Carrie Jo Bower of Powell, TN; sons, Justin Bower of Jeffersonville, IN and Cody Bower of Sellersburg, IN; grandchildren, Jayden Deacon and Jaxon Bower; brother, Jim Bower (Stephanie) of Jeffersonville, IN; sister, Lisbeth May (Troy) of Marysville, IN; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other extended family; grand-dog, Canela.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Tina Rae Bower, brother, John Wesley Bower, stepfather, Jon Griffin.

Life celebration services will be held at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, IN on Friday, February 24, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. with burial in New Market Cemetery.  Visitation will begin on Thursday from 12:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and after 11:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.  Expressions of sympathy in Richard’s memory may take the form of donations to the Richard Thomas Bower, Jr. family in lieu of flowers.
