Richard Bernard Smith, 83, of Sellersburg, IN went to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at his home.
Mr. Smith was born on January 17, 1931 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Bernard and Florence Smith. Richard served in the United States Marine Corp for nine years including during the Korean War. He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, MO with a bachelor’s degree in Science in economics. He was a salesman for USG Interiors for 37 years, and his passion was his family.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Shirley Smith; his children, Cathy Denise(Robert) of Canyon Country, CA, Michael Smith(Esther) of Dallas, TX Cindy Hudson(Sam) of Lawrenceville, GA and Christy Smith of Sellersburg, IN; grandchildren, Sara and Garrett Denise, Ryan Smith, Mark, Michael and Jonathan Hudson; brothers, James Smith of Sacramento, CA and David Smith of Seattle, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Smith.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 11:00
A.M. at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel.
