Rhonda Jean Adams, 53, of Charlestown, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, November 24, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 31, 1971, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, she was the cherished daughter of Janice Lorraine Adams.
Rhonda dedicated her career to helping others as an adult caregiver for Quality Community Services in New Albany, Indiana. Her compassion and commitment to her clients were evident, and she was known for her warm heart and gentle spirit. A devoted member of Eastside Christian Church in Jeffersonville, Rhonda found strength and solace in her faith, participating actively in church activities and community outreach.
An avid lover of the outdoors, Rhonda enjoyed walking, playing pickleball, tubing, and snow skiing, always seeking adventure and joy in nature. Her zest for life was infectious, and she often encouraged others to join her in outdoor pursuits.
Volunteering was essential to Rhonda's life; she devoted her time and energy to various organizations, believing in giving back to the community. Her selflessness and dedication to helping others left a lasting impact on those around her.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her mother, Janice, and her beloved grandparents, Burnis and Lorene Adams, as well as her uncles, Carroll Adams and Darrell Adams. She is survived by her son, Adam B. Garcia of Charlestown, and her aunts, Delores Adams and Geneva Adams, both of Charlestown. Rhonda also leaves behind a close-knit family of cousins, including Cheryl Doelker of Florida, Darrell Adams, Dianne Wimsett, Cindy Heath, Angela Roberts, and Drew Adams, all of Charlestown, along with numerous extended family members who cherished her dearly.
A Life Celebration Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial to follow in Ison-Brown Cemetery in Otisco, Indiana. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Rhonda Jean Adams will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, and the love she shared with everyone she met. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and generosity that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
