Polly Marie (Hensley) Lanham

Polly Marie Lanham, 80 of Mt. Washington, KY returned to her Heavenly Father on Friday December 4, 2020.  She was born in Wise County, Virginia to Willie and Dana Hensley on February 2, 1940.  She married John Eldridge on February 13, 1957 and had 7 loving children.

Polly was baptized on January 2, 1982 at Mt. Olivet in Blackey, KY.  She was a member of Chester Hogg Memorial Baptist Church for 37 years where she served with John as a deacon’s wife until his death in 2005.  She wanted to tell everyone about Jesus and invited them to church.

After being married 48 years she had no intentions of getting married again, but God had other plans for her.  She said God sent Richard Lanham to her to finish out her years on this earth with a loving friendship.  They were married on June 10, 2009 and she gained 3 more children.

She enjoyed shopping, gardening in her flowers, cooking, and going to the country music show.  She was always smiling but most especially when spending time with her husband and with her children.

Polly was preceded in death by her parents Willie and Dana Hensley, husband John Eldridge, brother Carl Hensley and daughter Lawanna Sanders.  Polly is survived by children:  Michael Eldridge, Randy (Sharon) Eldridge, Mark Eldridge, Dana (Mike) Bowen, Samantha (Cory) Kiper, Rebecca (Gary) Scott, Malinda (Jeff) Vibbert, Ricky (Janice) Lanham, and Sammy (Pam) Lanham; brothers Clayton (Norma) Hensley and Rayburn Hensley; 27 grandchildren: Michael Dean, Matthew, Eleschia, Scott, John, Marcus, Brad, Allison, Kristin, Joshua, Jonathan, Joseph, David, Kevin, Preston, Natalie, Jaden, Kyleigh, Emma, Zachary, Haden, Randi, Jennifer, Josh, Donovan, Samantha, and Jacob; 41 Great-Grandchildren: Aiden, Brennan, Charlie, Lela, Madison, Victoria, Clarissa, Marshall, Liam, Kayla, Cambrin, Alex, Alyssa, Brooklyn, Lexie, Aaiden, Kynslee, Jada, Aleeah, Payton, Lilly, Haley, Athena, George Jr., Vanessa, Gaven, Hunter, Honesty, Charles, Anna, Stetson, Blayton, Madelyn, Jonathan, Abby, Noah, Aubree, Bradyn, Xavier, Isabella, Theodora, Sofiah and Silas.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 9, 2020  at 1:00 PM at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial to follow in Crown Hill Cemetery in New Washington. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
