Phyllis Marie Rosebrock 69 of New Washington, IN passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN surrounded by her family.
She was born on April 11, 1954, in Jeffersonville, IN to J. T. and Lorene Booth Johnson. Phyllis was a 1972 graduate of Charlestown High School. She worked at Haas Cabinets for 18 years and Kitchen Kompact for 27 years where she retired from in 2020. She and her husband Ray just celebrated their 38th anniversary on November 22nd. Phyllis loved to travel with Ray and they visited all but four states in the continental U.S. She also loved shopping, especially for others. Giving gifts, whether it was a special occasion or just because was one of her favorite things to do. Phyllis also loved the outdoors from gardening, fishing, and mowing grass, to admiring her many, many flower arrangements and greenhouse plants. You could say the hummingbird was her spirit animal. She loved hummingbirds whether real or decorative. Phyllis was well known for her crafty hand in the kitchen. She had many specialty dishes but she really could cook just about anything. Above all, she was admired for her selflessness and kindness to others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, David Johnson, and nephew, Chris Johnson.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond A. Rosebrock; step-son, Chris Rosebrock of Scottsburg, IN, step-daughter, Amy LaRusso of Connecticut; brother, Steve Johnson (Susie) of Clay City, KY and children, Amanda Burns, Steven Johnson, Joshua Johnson, sisters, Charlotte Wiley of Charlestown, IN and her son Jonathan, Lisa Clapp (Michael) of Marysville, IN and their children Melissa Stewart and Travis Clapp; grandchildren, Gracie, Hali, Mason and Jack; great-grandchild, Grayson.
