Mr. Barnes passed away on Friday Jan. 15, 2010 at Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born on November 14, 1946 in Jeffersonville, IN the son of Jess and Alberta Cartwright Barnes. Mr. Barnes was a postal clerk and carrier for Charlestown, IN and the retired postmaster for Lexington, IN. He attended Northside Christian Church in New Albany, IN and was a member of National Association of Postmasters.
Survivors include his wife Mary Jo Birkla Barnes of Sellersburg, IN; daughters Goldie Roberts of Charlestown, IN, Della Hayes (Erik) of Upland, IN and Crystal Barnes (Jason Hammett) of Sellersburg, IN; step-son Warren Walker (Jill) of Milltown, IN; sister Patti Daughtery (John) of Marysville, IN; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
