Ms. Smith was born on June 16, 1944 in Madisonville, KY to John Calvin Whitfield and Mamie Frances Griffin and died on Sunday May 11, 2008 at Kindred Hospital in Louisville, KY. She was a former caregiver.
She is survived by her children; Kenneth W. Smith and Demesia Leffler both of Charlestown and John E. Smith of Jeffersonville, sisters; Norma Jean Gamble of Belva, IL, Martha R. Lataille of Woodsocket, RI and Joyce D. Flowers of Evansville, IN, brothers; Jackie Whitfield, John M. Whitfield and Roger D. Whitfield all of Madisonville, KY. and five grandchildren.
