Patricia Ann (Gnegy) Compher

It is with great sorrow that we say see you later to Patricia A. Compher, who passed away on March 25, 2023, at the age of 71.

Known by many as Patty and mom, she had an endearing spirit, full of love.  She was a mom too many while on this earth.  Always with an open heart and door to her home.  She provided many souls with shelter when they needed it.  She was a light of hope, compassion, and empathy even in the darkest of moments.  Those around her always felt and knew just how much love she had for them.

Her dedication to her family was beyond measure.  Her children have always been her driving force.  She raised and empowered her children with love and grace each day.  The love she had for her grandchildren was even more remarkable.  To her they were all her “baby dolls”, as she would call them.  Throughout all the trials and tribulations of life Patty (mommy) always stood tall, even with her short stature, ready to take the problems on, not giving up or wavering.  There are not enough words to describe the sorrow we are feeling at the dimming of such a bright light in our world.

Patty is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Dale Compher who passed away on June 1, 2022, her parents, Beatrice and Earl Gnegy, and son in law Jeremiah Hall.

Patty leaves behind her children Richard A. Nickolich, Jr ( Becki), Shawn Compher (Misty), Linda Hall, and Sherrie Doyle (Robert) all of Charlestown; brothers, John Gnegy of Maryland and Glen Gnegy of Ohio, sisters, Barbara Hanks and Mary Fioramonti both of Ohio; grandchildren Michael, Heather, Gabriel, Bryan, Addison, Kaine, Zach, Josh, Angel, Amber, Alexis and Abigale; great grandchildren, Adrian, Hunter, Mason, Kaisen, Ayla and Ella.

Life Celebration Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday March 28, 2023, at Grayson Funeral Home.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

The family will host a reception following the service at the home of Linda Hall at 1515 Seatick Road Charlestown, IN 47111.
