Patricia Ann (Vanmeter) Smith

Patricia Ann VanMeter Smith 75 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Wednesday February 28, 2024, at Hallmark House Assisted Living in Prospect, KY.

She was born on March 11, 1948, to John and Eula Hobson VanMeter in Jeffersonville, IN.  She was the former Office Manager for Deam Lake near Borden, IN and a member of the American Legion Post 335 Ladies Auxiliary.  Patricia had a wonderful sense of humor, enjoyed working in her garden, fishing, going to different festivals and cooking for her family.  She loved the Christmas season and baking Christmas cookies with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Richard Earl Smith.

Survivors include her daughter, Lori Gavin and her husband Shawn of Jeffersonville; son Chuck Schuler and his wife Kathleen of Charlestown, IN; grandchildren, Lindsay Gavin and Madison McGathey and her husband Hunter; brother, Larry VanMeter,; sisters, Shirley Kisor (Darrell), Sheila Weeks (Donald), Paula Gill (Raymie) and several nieces and nephews.

No services are scheduled and burial was in Charlestown Cemetery.
