Ora R. “Bud” Pettit, 87, of Marysville, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Maple Manor Christian Home.
He was born on November 26, 1924 to James Raymond and Cora Dunn Pettit in
Latham, IL. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII. He was a former milk tester for 24 years,
a retired custodian for Charlestown High School, and a member of the Marysville Christian Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Marion “Hank” and Robert James Pettit; sister, Freda M. Wilson.
Survivors include his wife, Helen E. Bridgewater Pettit; daughters, Elizabeth A. Pettit of Jeffersonville, IN, and Alice J. Johnston (Bill) of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren,
Michelle Johnston of Pensacola, FL, Zeb Johnston (Amy) of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Rachel Johnston of Ft. Wayne, IN; great-grandson, Logan Johnston of Ft. Wayne, IN.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial to follow in the Emmanuel Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2pm to 8pm and after 9am on Saturday.
