Opal Louise Clapp Bower

Mrs. Bower passed away on Saturday October 24, 2009 at her home.
She was born September 29, 1925 in Nabb, Indiana the daughter of Herman Theodore and Pearlie Mae Amick Clapp. Mrs. Bower worked many odd jobs in her younger years and became a homemaker in 1946. She worked for the State of Indiana for over 28 years at the former Muscatatuck State School and as the Madison State Hospital at a psychiatric attendant. Since retirement she has enjoyed embroidery, quilting, rodeo, baking and sharing time with family and friends. Mrs. Clapp was a member of the New Hope Community Church in New Washington, IN. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Burton (Bert) Bower, son Donald L. Bower and sister Viola J. Clapp Green.
She is survived by her daughters Linda Moffett and Shirley Burgin both of Nabb, IN; sister Elberda Lawrence of Nabb, IN; grandchildren Bob Burgin, Doug Burgin, Ed Burgin, Tommy Lee, Rob Lee, Jamie Logsdon, and Ethan Moffett; 15 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
