Ollie Mae Combs, 94, of Charlestown, IN passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Hampton Oaks in Scottsburg, IN.
Mrs. Combs was born on March 22, 1922 in Harlan County, KY the daughter of Sam and Armina Sizemore. She retired after more than 25 years with Jefferson Special Police as security for the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center in Louisville and also worked at the former Charlestown Amination Plant. She enjoyed the love of her family and playing bingo, bowling and watching horse racing.
Survivors include her daughters, Armina Cole(John) of Scottsburg, IN, Rita Amburgey(Arthur) of Charlestown, Mary Boucher(Jerry) of Charlestown, Zola Lee of Charlestown, Connie Stivers of Salem, IN and Veda Combs of Charlestown; son, Johnny Combs of Charlestown; twenty-four grandchildren, several great and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Truman Combs; son, Ralph Coda; grandchildren, Justin Combs, John Pepper Cole and Arthur Amburgey Jr.; great-grandchildren, Noah Caudill and Nevaeh Combs.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Charlestown Cemetery. Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown is in charge of arrangements.
