In Memory Of
Oliver Russell Dieterlen, 92 of Otisco, IN passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN.
Mr. Dieterlen was born on Januaray 25, 1922 in Clark County, IN the son of Ralph and Clara Kursnar Dieterlen. He retired after several years from G. E. Appliance Park in Louisville, KY and was also a Farmer. He was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, life member of the former American Legion Post #352 in Nabb, IN, and was a United State Army Veteran of World War II. He enjoyed gardening and was well known for his watermelons and peanuts.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Simmons Graves Dieterlen; daughters, Carol Dieterlen(Maurice) of Otisco, IN, Deloris Gibbons of Tennessee and Rosetta Adams(Allen) of New Albany, IN; sons, Russell Dieterlen(Kay) of Otisco, IN, Gerald Graves(Brenda) of Charlestown, IN and Kevin Graves(Jo) of New Albany, IN; sisters, Mary Coombs of Indianapolis and Pauline Harris of Otisco; brother, Maurice Dieterlen of Otisco; twenty-seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Martha Dieterlen and Louella Lee; brother, Leon Dieterlen; daughter, Frances Crawley and son, Richard Graves.
Funeral services will be held at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 5, 2014 with burial in Emmanuel Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. and after 1:00 P.M. Wednesday until time of service. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
