Myrtle Logsdon Burns, 85 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Monday February 23, 2015 at Wedgewood Manor in Clarksville, IN.
Myrtle was born on August 14, 1929 in Lexington, KY the daughter of William L. and Nettie Johnson Mattingly. She worked for twenty-one years for One Hour Martinizing in Clarksville, IN. Myrtle was member of the First Baptist Church in Jeffersonville, IN, attended North Charlestown Church of God. Myrtle was a special mother whom her children because of height had “to look down at her, but always looked up to her”, and enjoyed spending time sewing and cooking.
Survivors include her daughters; Patricia Fisher of Jeffersonville and Teresa Schmidt of Louisville, son; Richard Broy of Henryville, IN sister; Catherine Johnson of Charlestown, seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1st husband, Elmer G. Logsdon, 2nd husband, James F. Burns; daughter, Shara L. Piepho; four brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 12 Noon at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and after 9:00 A.M. on Friday until the time of services.
