Mildred Amelia (Powell) Slatten

Mildred Amelia Slatten 82 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Monday October 3, 2022, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN.

She was born on May 6, 1940, in Louisville, KY to Milton and Lucy Bomar Powell.  She had work in security for the Casino and was a loving mother and homemaker who enjoyed animals especially dogs and cats and watching Murder She Wrote.

Mildred was preceded in death by her siblings, Lucy Whalin and John Powell.

She is survived by her children, John Bates of New Washington, IN, Brian Bates of Charlestown, Cindy Bates of Mauckport, IN Penny Wideback of Florida and Kristina Slatten of New Albany, IN; sister, Bennie Wyatt of Jeffersonville, IN; grandchildren, James Early, Jennifer Bates Long, Joshua Bates, Megan Padgham, Christian Bates and Zack Bates; great grandchildren Megan Waters, Raylan Long and Eli Bates.

Life Celebration Services will be at 6:00 pm on Monday October 10, 2022, at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Monday.
