Michael R Staser

Michael R. Staser, 79 of Lexington, IN passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Baptist Health in Louisville, Ky.

He was born on January 4, 1943, in New Albany, IN to the late Leonard and Mildred Foster Staser.  Mike was a US Navy veteran, worked at ICI of Americas and retired from his own golf cart business.  He was a Mason, a member of the American Legion #9 and V.F.W post #1693 in New Albany.  He was dedicated to his country and celebrated the flag anywhere he saw it flying.  Mike and Alice enjoyed traveling, seeing 42 of the 50 states and gambling a little along the way.  Mentoring the community children in mechanics and life lessons were a passion he enjoyed sharing.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Alice Wainscott Staser; their son, Ronald (Tammy) Staser of Lexington, IN; brother, Leonard Staser Jr. of Phoenix, AZ; his beautiful granddaughters, Matalin Noel Staser and Izabella Janzen Staser both of Lexington, IN; grandson, Michael Shonk of Connecticut; and great grandchildren, Melody, Makenzie and Maxwell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, David Staser and Frank Staser.

Mike’s wishes were for cremation.  A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
