Michael Wayne Shackelford

Michael Wayne Shackelford 71 of New Washington, IN passed away on Tuesday March 5, 2024, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN.

He was born on January 7, 1953, in Louisville, KY to Crittenden and Margaret Shackelford.  Mike was Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, c current board member of the American Legion Post 335, a former farm laborer and former employee of Mulzer Crushed Stone and Versatile Processing.  He supported UK Basketball, and enjoyed hunting mushrooms, fishing, and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Markettia York.

Survivors include his wife Anna Hamner Shackelford, daughter, Misti Nash (Doc) of Pekin, IN; sons, Scott Wampler (Angela) of Charlestown, IN and Danny Wampler (Laura) of Greenville, IN; brother, Tom Shackelford (Amber) of Charlestown; grandchildren, Corgan Wampler, Riley Wampler, Kasym Nash, Kylan Nash, Zoie Wampler, Evelyn Wampler and Henry Wampler.

Cremation was chosen and a Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 am  on Saturday April 6, 2024 at the American Legion Post 335 in Charlestown.  The family requests no flowers and any expressions of sympathy should be made to the American Legion.
