Maxine Woodward

Maxine Woodward, 97, of Charlestown, IN passed away on Thursday evening October 17, 2024, at her home in Charlestown.

She was born on April 27, 1927, in Oolitic, IN to Floyd W. and Gertrude Nicholas Thompson.  Maxine was a retired secretary for several businesses and had been a statistical clerk for the US Census Bureau.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Charlestown and enjoyed cooking, shopping, and watching the Game Show Network.  She was preceeded in death by her parents, 8 siblings and her husband Paul Wayne Woodward.

Survivors include her son, Alan W. Woodward (Marti) Jasper, IN, and daughters, Pamela Tucker (Ronald) of Charlestown, Rebecca L. Williams of Georgetown, IN, and Deborah G. Barber (Crente Pride) of Scottsburg, IN, grandchildren, Ronald Tucker, Jr, Kimberly Nix, Robert Williams, Eric Williams, Starr Williams, Joshua Barber and Arielle Flannery, 11 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Life Celebration Services will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday.
