Maxine (Sumner) Davis

Maxine Davis, 76, of Charlestown, IN, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN.

She was born on May 14, 1943 to Leonard and Bernice  Sumner in Hazard, KY.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roosevelt Davis, Sr.; sons, Roosevelt Davis, Jr. and Michael Davis.

Maxine is survived by her daughters, Vada (Richard) Spear of Charlestown, and Linda (Kenneth) Cross of Charlestown, sons, George (Tammy) Davis of Charlestown; Leonard Davis of Charlestown,and Jay Davis of Charlestown; sister, Vada Sandlin of Burlington,IN; brother, Grandville Sumner of Hazard, KY; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Life Celebration Services will be at 1 pm on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial to follow at Old Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm on Sunday, May 17, 2020.

Due to the current Federal, State and Local mandates regarding visitations; only twenty-five people will be allowed in the funeral home at a time.  Please be aware that if you come, you may have to wait.  The family and staff of Grayson Funeral Home will accommodate you during this time.  The funeral service is limited to a total of sixty persons and social distancing requirements should be followed.
