Matthew Leon Spencer

Matthew Leon Spencer, 57 of Otisco, IN passed away on December 18, 2019 at his residence after a battle with a long illness.  He was born on June 29, 1962 in Clark Co, IN to Edwin F. and Frances L. Spencer.  He spent most of his life working as a machinist.

Matthew is survived by his loving wife Connie Jones Spencer, and was the proud father of his surviving sons: Joshua Ryan (Beth) Spencer of Charlestown, IN, Jacob Daniel (Caylin) Spencer of Corydon, IN, Joseph Tyler Spencer of Marysville, IN and Jaxson Matthew Spencer of Charlestown; granddaughters: Isabella Geraldine, McKinley Grace, and AnnaKate Gabrielle; his brothers Thomas Ewell ( Renee’) Spencer of Carenco, LA and Stephen Spencer of Jeffersonville, IN; his sister Barbara (Anthony) Walker of Jeffersonville; his father in law Jay “Sonny” (Charlotte) Jones of Otisco; sisters in law Deena Bennett and Kathleen Spencer; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers Paul Morton Spencer, David Bennett Spencer, and Jonathan Edwin Spencer.

Memorial services will be held on Friday December 20, 2019 at 6:00 PM at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown.  Visitation will be held on Friday beginning at 4:00 PM until the time of the service.
