Mary L (Yount) Shepherd

Mary Lois Shepherd, 86, of Otisco, IN, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, July 6, 2020 at her home.

She was born on March 17, 1934 in Scottsburg, IN to Luther and Martha Johnson Yount. She was a former secretary for the Marysville-Otisco-Nabb Water Co., and a member of the North Charlestown  Church of God.  Mary was preceded in death by her husband, George Marion Shepherd, Sr; daughter in law, Marie Shepherd; siblings, Robert Yount, William Yount, Charles Yount, Velma Clapp, Betty Ford and Luther B. Yount, Jr.

Mary is survived by her children, George Shepherd of Charlestown, IN, Norma Croft of Jeffersonville, IN;  Donald Shepherd of Otisco and Mary(Scott) Young of Otisco; sisters, Martha Stoner of Jeffersonville, and Ruth Young of Perryville, MD; grandchildren, John Browning, Gena (Jason) Johnson, Brett (Hannah) Shepherd and Kristin Nichelson; great grandchildren, Courtney and Kaylee James, Aiden Johnson and her precious little Lucy Shepherd and many nieces and nephews and many friends who loved her.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday July 9, 2020 at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Barnes Cemetery. Visitation will be from  2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and after 9:00 a.m. on Thursday.

The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice and Dr. McGhee and staff for their loving care. The family requests that everyone wear a mask if attending the visitation or funeral.
