Mary Elizabeth Jones, 90, of Charlestown, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was born on August 15, 1922 to Walter Alexander and Lover Jones in Charlestown, IN. She was a retired Charlestown Middle School custodian, member of the Second Baptist Church, was on the board of Charlestown Housing Authority, member of the Red Hat Society, Charlestown Beautification Committee, and an active volunteer for different organizations. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Robert Jones.
Survivors include her sons, Samuel B. Anderson, Jr.(Brenda) of Jeffersonville, IN, and John A. Jones (Diane Reynolds) of Indianapolis, IN; daughter, Audrey Jones of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Vaneika Saunders, LaShawnda Saunders, Dennis Huggins II, Bradford Anderson, and Pryia Jones, and 3 Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 10:30am at the First Baptist Church in Charlestown, with burial to follow in the Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4pm to 8pm at Grayson Funeral Home, and after 9:30am at the church.
