We regret to announce the passing of Mary Elizabeth (Rea) Harsin, 97 of Chelsea, IN on Friday, July 15, 2016 after a long illness.
Mary was born in Jefferson County on October 19, 1918 to Rollie Mansfield Rea and Lillie Hart (Glen) Rea. Mary graduated from North Madison High School. Her husband, Leroy Edwin Harsin, also from Jefferson County, preceded Mary in death in 2009. They had lived on their farm near Chelsea since 1951. Mary was a long-time member of the Hanover Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Hebron Baptist Church and attended Chelsea Church of God.
She is survived by four children, Paul Leon Harsin (Connie) of Lebanon, IN, Ronald Neil Harsin (Ilene) of Chelsea, Joyce Ann Stewart (Philip) of Chelsea and Maurice Lee Harsin (Mary Jane) of Deputy, IN; thirteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Mabel (Grace) Rowlett and Sarah Lee; brothers, Robert Rea and Ralph Rea.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 22, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Hanover with burial in Hebron Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Thursday at 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. and on Friday after 1:00 P.M. until time of service. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mary may take the form of donations to the Hebron Cemetery Association.
