Mary Ada Barry

Mary Ada Barry, 87, of Charlestown, IN passed away on Friday, November 15, 2013 at Kentuckiana Medical Center in Clarksville, IN.

She was born on May 3, 1926 to Bennie and Frona (Yates) Mingus in Hardin Co., KY. She was a homemaker and a member of the Community Presbyterian Church.  She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Cathy Barry; sister, Hazel Gray; brother, Gordon Mingus.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Forrest “Jiggs” Barry of Charlestown, IN; son, Kenneth Barry (Glendene) of Louisville, KY; sisters, Veradena Barry of Melbourne, FL, Frances Dowell of Louisville, KY, and Lillian Crunk of Louisville, KY; brothers, Melvin Mingus of Bardstown, KY, and David Mingus of Vine Grove, KY; grandchildren, Patrick Barry of Henryville, IN, Nicole Barry of Louisville, KY, Joshua Barry of Louisville, KY, Shawn Abma of Louisville, KY, and Shane Abma of Portland, OR; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 1pm at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial to follow in the Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Monday from 2pm to 8pm, and after 11am on Tuesday.
