Marvin Ray Walters, 84, of Charlestown, IN died Thursday June 27, 2013 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville.
He was born on August 24, 1928 in Harlan County, Kentuckt to George and Thelma Castle Walters. Marvin was a Navy Veteran of World War II and a retired woodworker and member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church and V.F.W. and American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Maxine Walters.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years Virginia Willis Walters; a daughter; Rosemary Bradnan (William) of Hilton Head, SC, son; Tom Walters (Chilita) of Charlestown, IN, brothers; Wayne Walters (Polly) of Sellersburg, IN, Allen Walters of Jeffersonville, IN and Mike Walters (Brenda) of Memphis, IN, sisters; Georgia Hall and Shirley Zollman (Ray) both of Scottsburg, IN, Pauline May (Paul) of Jeffersonville, IN and Janet May of Otisco, IN and five grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday July 1, 2013 at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, IN. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday and after 9 a.m. on Monday.
