He was retired from the United States Army and a retired employee of the Metropolitan Sewer District in Louisville. He was a member of the American Legion Post 335 and the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife Huson Brooks; son Anthony Brooks of Crestwood, KY, sister; Yvonne Denk of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. , grandchildren; Heather Farnsley and Matthew Goodman of Henryville, IN and Riley Krase of Crestwood, KY.
