Martha F. Smith, 71, of New Washington, IN, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at her home.
She was born on April 14, 1946 in Madison, IN to George and Martha (Gallagher) Ferguson. She was a retired seamstress, a volunteer coordinator at the Lanier Manson in Madison, IN, and a member of the First Christian Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her grandson, Dillon Henry.
Survivors include her husband, Archie Smith of New Washington, IN; Son, George Henry of Vevay, IN; daughter, Martha Dawn Hizer of Fairdale, KY; sister, Sue E. Graham of Madison, IN; grandchildren; Logan Henry, Georganna Henry, Jeremy McDarment, Sr., and Mallory McDarment; great-grandchildren, Jeremy McDarment, Jr., Shayla McDarment, Jayla McDarment, and Leeland Hon; step-children, Amy Gillespie of Charlestown, IN, and Steven Smith of New Albany, IN; step-grandchildren, Lucas Gillespie, Lincoln Gillespie, Lilly Gillespie, Caleb Smith, Leah Smith, Rebecca Smith, and Mark Smith; special friends, Freddie, Selena, Frieda, and Gizelle.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 26, 2017 at 11am at the Grayson Funeral Home in Hanover, with burial to follow in the Springdale Cemetery in Madison, IN. Visitation will begin on Sunday from 12pm to 4pm, and after 9am on Monday.
