Margaret “Louise” Taff, 93, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, February 6, 2011.
She was born on October 15, 1917 to Lawrence and Marguerite Ross in
Clark
County
, IN. She was the 3

of 5 children. Louise was a gifted singer, doing much solo work as a young woman and in her church choir at 1
st
United
Methodist
Church
in
Charlestown
. She taught Sunday school for many years, was active in
UMW Circle
and held many church positions through the years. She was a member of the Psi Iota Xi Sorority. Louise has a sweet, patient, and generous nature coupled with great business acumen. During WWII she worked at the Charlestown Bank as a teller and bought and fixed up old homes. When Taff returned from Naval Service they developed Taff’s Gas Service, where she worked in sales and bookkeeping through the 1970’s. Louise was an avid gardener and baker who enjoyed sharing her flowers, produce, and pies. Her priorities were her faith in Jesus Christ, her family, and her friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Kynard L. Taff who passed away August 24, 2009, and her son Billy Taff. One of the “Great Generation”, she will be deeply missed by those who knew her.
Survivors include her sons; Gerry Taff (Nellie Kay) of Jeffersonville, IN, and Tom Taff (Marti) of Dallas, TX; daughter; Mary Cook (Tom) of Fairfield, TN; sister; Betty Cleeter (Dr.Paul) of Plymouth, IN; sister-in-law; Dorothy Ross of Charlestown, IN; Grandchildren; Kevin Taff (Talaina), Julie Thompson (Jeff), Cristie Haire (Travis), Tracy Cook, and Annette DeWitt (Dr. John); great-grandchildren; Kayla Taff, Candace Thompson, Caroline Roth (Derek), Victoria Haire, Stephen and Rachel DeWitt
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 11am at the Grayson Funeral Home, with burial in the
Charlestown
Cemetery
. Visitation will be held on Friday from 3pm to 8pm, and after 9am on Saturday.
