Margaret H. Schafer age 85 of Memphis, IN passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Clark Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Schafer was born June 27, 1929 in Charlestown, IN the daughter of Anthony and Minnie Goebel Korte. She was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Charlestown and enjoyed gardening, flowers and just loved being around nature.
Survivors include her daughters, Betty Madison(Ronald) and Donna Jones(Greg) both of Jeffersonville; sisters, Helen Atkins of New Albany, IN and Alma Schneller of Louisville, KY; brothers, Anthony Korte of Memphis, IN and Raymond Korte of Borden, IN; daughter-in-law, Debbie Claycamp of Jeffersonville; grandchildren, Christopher Schafer and Crystal Claycamp and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph G. Claycamp in 1965; second husband, John Alfred Schafer in 1993; son Ralph A. Claycamp in 2002, sisters, Mary T. Klotz and Elizabeth Korte; brothers, John and Charles Korte.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Monday, August 4, 2014 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Charlestown, IN with burial in St. Michaels Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown.
