Margaret Jane (Cortner) Hayse

Margaret Jane Hayse, 89 of Marysville, IN passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at her home.

Margaret was born on October 18, 1930 in Otisco, IN the daughter of Lester and Fanny Walton Cortner. She worked for several years for Amatrol Inc. in Jeffersonville, IN in the Binding Department. Margaret was an accomplished organist and pianist playing for services at her church, Trinity United Presbyterian Church in New Washington, IN. Some of Margaret’s joys in life included her family, sewing, quilting and working with flowers around her house which is such a peaceful place.

Margaret is survived by her husband of 68 years, James “Pete” Hayse; son, James Mark Hayse of Marysville, IN; daughter, Lisa Bowman and her husband James “Bimps” of Marysville, IN; sisters, Carol Wampler of New Washington, IN and Janet Whisman of Charlestown, IN; grandchildren, Craig Bowman(Amber) and Dustin Bowman; sister-in-law, Janice Cortner. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Paul and James Cortner

Life Celebration Services will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Grayson Funeral Home in New Washington with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday until the time of service at 2:00 P.M. Due to recent health concerns we recommend wearing a mask when entering the funeral home.
