Ms. VanMeter died Thursday January 3, 2008 at Hampton Oaks in Scottsburg, IN.
She was a retired farmer and a member of the First Baptist Church in Charlestown.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Daisy Braxton, husband, Carl L. VanMeter, son, Jerry VanMeter, granddaughter; Joanna F. VanMeter; two brothers and a sister.
Survivors include her sons, Robert C. VanMeter of Sterling Heights, MI and David L. VanMeter; of Underwood, IN; daughter Patricia L. Pershing, of Bloomington, IN; sisters Daisy L. Bradley , of Troy, MI and Nancy E. Ritzman, of Bloomfield Hills, MI; brothers, Bert Braxton of Sterling Heights, MI and John Braxton of Bloomfield Hills, MI; 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
