Lloyd Henry Bamforth

BAMFORTH, Lloyd H., 82, went home to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, July 27, 2019, surrounded by his loving family after a valiant battle with cancer.

He was a native of Williamstown, KY, and a member of North Charlestown Church of God. He was a former employee of Inland Container and St. Joe Paper Co., a partner in the old Bamforth Bros. Standard in Clarksville, IN and retired from Voignier’s Auto Air in Jeffersonville, IN. He enjoyed singing gospel music, Hymns and playing his guitar on the town square in Charlestown and was a NASCAR fan.

Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, the former Joyce Burks; his children, Lloyd (Nancy), Darlene Peyton (Johnny), Rob and David (Jayme); siblings, Harold (Emily) and Elaine Bamforth Stone, all of Palm Harbor, FL, Fred (Betty) of Lake Waccamaw, NC, and Jewell Gibson of Fairdale, KY; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial to follow in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday and after 9:00 AM Wednesday.
