In Memory Of
Lisa Marie Reynolds, 48 of Charlestown, IN passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Westminster Health Care Center where she resided for the past two and a half years. She was born on May 31, 1967 in Bloomington, IN the daughter of Robert Reynolds and Bonnie Hildebrand-Reynolds almost three months early. She weighed only two pounds and nine ounces and spent the first three months of her life in an incubator.
At age four months and at nine pounds, she went with her parents to live in Paramonga, Peru where she spent the next year of her life.
In her younger years, she had contact with young people from countries all over the world who were hosted by her family. She also became a fluent speaker of Spanish. With her family, and later alone, she traveled to many different countries.
As Lisa grew up, she proved to be a superior student and was co-valedictorian at Lanesville High School in 1984 and an accomplished pianist. She attended IUS and IU Bloomington for a B.A. in Piano Performance, then Northwestern University in Chicago and attained her Master’s in Piano Performance. After college, Lisa spent some time working as an intern in El Paso, Texas in a home for refugees from the civil wars in Central America. While there she also served as interpreter for residents and their lawyers in court cases. After this, she returned to school and earned a graduate degree in Library Science. After working a short time at the Eagle Creek Branch Library in Indianapolis, she got a job in Charlestown at the Charlestown-Clark County Libraries as the Manager of the Cataloguing Department.
Lisa was an avid reader, enjoyed listening to classical music and watching TV. Her favorite shows were Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, NCIS, Bones and The Big Bang Theory.
Lisa was preceded in death by her grandparents, Marshall and Florence Hildebrand and William and Lois Reynolds, two aunts, Winita Peck and Marjorie Lambert and cousin Bill Peck. Survivors include her parents, brother, Michael Lee Reynolds and her therapy dog Bella.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of services. A gathering of family and friends will be held at 2:30 P.M. after the funeral services at the Cobblestone Hotel in Charlestown, IN.
