Leonard Joseph Eickholtz, 77, of Charlestown, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Floyd Memorial Hospital.
He was born on October 18, 1936 to John Henry and Anna May (Schafer) Eickholtz in Charlestown, IN. He was a lifelong farmer a, pilot, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the St. Michael Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Lennie Eickholtz; brothers, Henry and Frank Eickholtz;
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn (Bischoff) Eickholtz; sons, Stephen Eickholtz (Delores) of Charlestown, IN, Johnny Eickholtz (Betty) of Charlestown, IN, and Chris Eickholtz of Charlestown, IN; daughters, Susan Lewis (Dan) of Charlestown, IN, and Joanne Burbrink (Nathan) of North Vernon, IN; brothers, Richard Eickholtz (Pat) , Raymond Eickholtz (Juliann), and Denis Eickholtz (Phyllis); sisters, Rita Hamerla (Don), Agnes Withers, Clara Calvert (Don), Dorothy Dunn, and Mary Shields (Tom);
sisters-in-law, Barbara Eickholtz and Annemarie Eickholtz; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 24, 2014 at 10am at the St. Michael Catholic Church, with burial to follow in the St. Michael Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Sunday, February 23, 2014 from 12pm to 5pm at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, and after 9am.
