Leon Campbell, 73 of Charlestown passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Kentuckiana Medical Center.
Leon was born November 9, 1942 in Perry County, KY the son of Charlie P. and Mallie Sizemore Campbell. He was retired from General Electric in Louisville and never missed a day of work in 34 years. Leon was a member of the North Charlestown Church of God, his union at work and served as a union steward.
Survivors include his sons, Dwight D. Campbell, Dwayne E. Campbell and Darrin M. Campbell all of Charlestown; grandson, Dylan E. Campbell of Charlestown; sisters, Juanita “E” Cundiff of Georgetown, IN, Frieda Shaw of Charlestown and Linda Wilson of Otisco; brothers, Bobby Campbell of Chatsworth, GA and Tommy Campbell of Memphis, TN; and several nieces and nephews. Leon was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Carolyn Campbell; brothers, Charles Edward Campbell and Dock Denny Campbell.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be held also on Tuesday beginning at 11:00 A.M. until time of services.
