Lelia Raye Pate Grantz Howard, age 88, of Charlestown passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012 at her residence.
She was born August 6, 1924 in Scottsburg, IN the daughter of Cortis Pate and Millie Florence Farris Pate Ratliff. Mrs. Howard was a retired nurses aide at Floyd Memorial Hospital. Was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in New Albany, loved drawing and was a loving mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her daughters, Judy Norris, Charlestown and Barbara Harmon, Vinton, Virginia; sister, Beatrice Walker, Palmyra, IN; sixteen grandchildren, twenty three great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Anthony Grantz and four sisters.
Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday August 25, 2012 at Tunnel Hill Cemetery in Edwardsville, IN. Grayson Funeral Home, Charlestown is in charge of arrangements.
