Leland Richard Lynch

Leland Richard Lynch 71 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Kindred Hospital in Louisville, KY. surrounded by his family.

He was born on December 29, 1951, in Jeffersonville, IN to the late Richard Lee and Regenia Marie Frank Lynch.

Leland loved being involved in 4-H, where he served as a leader of the dairy committee and Cattleman’s Association committee member.  He was a member of the Southern Indiana Rabbit Breeders Association and the Charlestown Alumni Association.  He loved to fish, garden, bowl, travel, listen to live music, his cats, and most of all spend time with his family.  Leland worked at LG&E, the Kentucky State Fairgrounds, the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, and various other jobs.  To say he was adventurous and spontaneous was an understatement.

Leland is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Jamie Darlene Yeager Lynch; his children, Rebecca Sue Everhart (Benjamin) of Sellersburg, IN, Russell Lynch (Katie Phillips) of Jeffersonville, IN, and Jennifer Olivia Lynch (Josh Bibb) of Otisco, IN; grandchildren, Autumn Lynch Hoke (Alex), Duane “Thunder” Phillips (Kaitlyn), and Farrah Everhart; his siblings, Jimmy Lynch, Sharon Carter, Patricia Johnson (Leroy), Rita Fentress (Tim), Diana Lames, Brenda Graves, and Terry Lynch; great-grandchildren, Stella Hoke and two more on the way; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Leland was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Lynch, and brother-in-law, Gerald Graves.

Life Celebration services will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown. Visitation will be on Monday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM.

The family respectfully asks for donations toward the funeral expenses.

Burial will follow at Charlestown Cemetery.
