Lela Delphine (Kidd) Cherry

Lela Delphine Cherry, 75 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Friday December 22, 2017 at her residence. She was born on December 29, 1941 in Garrard, KY to Elderberry and Smarie Ann Carpenter Kidd. Lela worked as a dietician at Clark Memorial Hospital and was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church.
Lela is survived by her husband George Cherry; sons: Michael Cherry of Charlestown, and Joey Cherry (Betty) of Marysville, IN; daughters: Tammy Cherry of Charlestown, Tonya Graebe (Bill) of Savannah, MO, and Ann Taylor of Henderson, KY; her brothers: James Kidd of Waynesburg, KY, Bobby Jones of Crab Orchard, KY, Sherman Jones of Crab Orchard, KY, and Charles Reagan of Alabama; her sisters Rosie Swope of Lancaster, KY and Sue Blanton of Crab Orchard, KY; 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Lela was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Joe Kidd and Raymond Kidd as well as her sisters Faye Kidd and Marie Allen.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 27, 2017 at 1:00pm at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial to follow in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2pm-8pm and again on Wednesday beginning at 9:00am.
