Lawrence Brown

Lawrence Brown, 86 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Monday, December 29, 2014 at Maple Manor Christian Home in Sellersburg, IN.
Mr. Brown was born March 16, 1928 in Whitesburg, KY the son of Ben Joseph and Isabelle Lewis Brown. He was a retired Welder for the L & N Railroad and was also a Minister and a member of the Chester Hogg Old Regular Baptist Church in Charlestown.
Survivors include his daughters, Linda Bledsoe of Charlestown, IN and Rena Lindsey(Charles) of Uniontown, KY; brother, Billy Brown(Thelma Jean) of West Virginia; sister, Pauline Barger of Austin, IN; grandchildren, Michael Gregory of Charlestown, Kevin Bledsoe(Amy) of Oklahoma, Jimmy Bledsoe(Diana) of Uganda, East Africa and Jason Bledsoe(Janet) of Charlestown, IN; fourteen great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Flossie Thompson and Audrey Brown both of Charlestown, IN and Dixie Brown of Louisville. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Polly Brown; daughter, Patsy Brown; brothers, Willard, Ellis, Willis and Howard Brown; son-in-law, Garry Bledsoe; brother-in-law’s, Carl Williams and Walter Barger; sister-in-law, Beatrice Brown.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 P.M. on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 1:00 to 8:00 P.M. and after 12:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
