Laverne (Jenkins) Hostetler

Laverne Hostetler, age 92 of Hanover passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at King’s Daughters’ Hospital.
Mrs. Hostetler was born on September 2, 1920 in Jefferson County, IN the daughter of Alfred and Virgie Smith Jenkins. She married Emory Hostetler on April 2, 1938 in Jefferson County, IN. She was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church, a huge Bobby Knight fan and loved Indiana University Basketball. She was a former employee of the old Hilltop Animal Clinic and enjoyed gardening and quilting.
Survivors include a daughter, Patty Goforth(Norman), Jeffersonville, IN; sons, William E. Hostetler(Winona), New Washington, IN, Larry R. Hostetler(Janet), Floyds Knobs, IN and Ronald K. Hostetler, Hanover; sister, Agatha Patterson, Jeffersonville, IN; brother, William Jenkins(Margie), Dupont, In; daughter in law, Carolyn Hostetler, Hanover; eight grandchildren, Melissa Deaver, Mike Hostetler(Karen), Tony Hostetler(Lorinda), Christina Hostetler, Jill Thorne(David), Kelsey and Kirtley Hostetler and Randy Beckett; eight great-grandchildren, Sophia Goforth, Kimberlin and Jacob Thorne, Ashley Hostetler, Hunter and Mason Hostetler, Walker Flinders and Jaelen Hostetler; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Emory F. Hostetler on March 19, 1980, son, E. Leon Hostetler September 10, 2010 and infant sister Juanita Ann Jenkins.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home, Hanover with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery in New Washington, IN. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and after 9:00 A.M. Tuesday until time of service at the funeral home. Expressions of Sympathy may take the form of donations to the Elizabeth Baptist Church or Crown Hill Cemetery Association.
