Larry E. Zahnd

Larry Eugene Zahnd, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on July 25, 2026, at the age of 67.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Virginia Zahnd, and his brother, Steve Zahnd.

He is survived by the love of his life and devoted wife, Nita Zahnd. Together they shared 42 years of marriage. He is also survived by his only daughter, Andrea OConnell (Clayton); his brother, Jeffery Zahnd (Kathy); his nephews, Jeff and Brad; his grandchildren, Darbi Sanders (Alex), Kieran OConnell, and Bailee Marshall (Stephen); and his great-grandchildren, Estes, Raimi, Israel, and his soon-to-arrive great-grandchild, Salem, expected in September. And Lastly, His dog Ernie, who was much more than a pet, he was a beloved member of the family.

Nothing brought Larry more happiness than being surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren, creating memories they will carry with them for years to come.

Those who knew Larry will remember his determined spirit, generous heart, and playful sense of humor. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, offering his time, energy, and unwavering support to the people he loved.

Larry’s legacy is one of love, perseverance, generosity, and quiet strength. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and remembered by all who were blessed to know him.

A Life Celebration Service will take place on August 8, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown.
