Larry Preston Propes, 69, of Charlestown, IN, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 at Kindred Transitional Care in Sellersburg, IN.
He was born on July 8, 1947 to Ivan and Doris (Crouch) Propes in Burkesville, KY. He is an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, a retired design engineer for General Electric, and attended Northside Christian Church in New Albany, IN.
Survivors include his wife the former Janet Crace of Charlestown, IN; sons, Richard Propes (Holly) of Charlestown, IN, and Ryan Propes (Tiffany) of Charlestown, IN; mother, Doris Propes of Charlestown, IN; brother, David Propes of Charlestown, IN; sisters, Betty Petri of Avon, IN, and Judy Wright (Ray) of Clarksville, IN; grandchildren, Chloe, Kassie, Ava, Nicholas, and Maci Propes.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 11am at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial to follow in the Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Wednesday from 10am to 8pm, and after 9am on Thursday.
