Larry Gullion, Sr

Larry Gullion, Sr. 77 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020 at Norton’s Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Larry was born on April 22, 1943 in Switzerland County, IN the son of Herschel Ernest and Irene Dickerson Gullion. He was a retired truck driver beginning his career with Lutz concrete in Charlestown and ending it with Ernst Concrete in Clarksville, IN. Larry was a member of Memphis Christian Church and enjoyed gardening, camping, yard work and working with his flowers especially his roses. He enjoyed his riding lawn mower so much he would not only mow his yard but anyone’s yard that would let him and we can not forget his Big Red F-250 truck called Clifford.

Larry is survived by his wife Ruth Gullion; daughters Peggy Blankenburg and her husband Tomas of Charlestown, IN and Donna Sexton and her husband Drexel of Otisco, IN; son Larry “Moose” Gullion, Jr. of Charlestown, IN; sisters, Jeanetta Jackson and Joyce Gibson both of Charlestown, IN; eight grandchildren, Wesley, Heather, Morgan, Zachary, Warren, Andrew, Kendall, Chase and Jacob; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; son James Ernest Gullion in 2006; brothers, Russell, Donald, Fred and Bob Gullion.

Life Celebration Services will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday and after 9:00 AM Wednesday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in memory of Larry to the Memphis Christian Church.
