Larry Richard Dean

Larry Richard Dean, 73, passed away at his home.

He was born on May 17, 1937 to Jerome Ambrose and Carmolita Charlene Baxter Dean in Henryville, IN. He was a retired Math, Chemistry, and Drivers Education teacher for Charlestown High School. He was a member of N.E.A, ISTA, former County Commissioner from 1981-1989, County Council Member for 10 years from 1971-1981, he raised and bred thoroughbred horses, he was the former District President for the United Methodist Youth Fellowship, a member of the Scottish Rite of Indianapolis, a member of the Blazing Star Lodge #226, and a member of the Henryville Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents Jerome and Carmolita Dean and his nephew Brent Dean Bagshaw.

Survivors include his sister, Ramona Bagshaw of Henryville, IN; niece, Cindy Comstock (Terry) of Charlestown, IN; nephews, Thomas Comstock of Charlestown, IN, Jackson Bagshaw of Henryville, IN, and Jordan Ray of Henryville, IN.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 1:30pm at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Henryville. Visitation will be held on Friday from 3pm to 8pm, and after 9am on Saturday. A Masonic service will be held on Friday December 10, 2010 at 7pm at the funeral home.
