Kenneth William Kern, 61, of New Washington, IN, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at his home.
He was born on January 1, 1955 to Theodore William and Grace Darlene (McGill) Kern in Louisville, KY. He was a Millwright for Rapid Industries, and a member of the Millwrights Local Union 1076. He is preceded in death by his parents; his step-fathers, Carl Schuster, and Herbie Chester; brothers, Herbert Chester, and Kirbie Chester.
Survivors include his wife the former Sherry Williams of New Washington, IN; sons, Kenneth W. Kern, II of Charlestown, IN, and Chad Winston Kern of New Washington, IN; daughters, Kristi Kern Martin of Jeffersonville, IN, and Cheyenne Hester of Jeffersonville, IN; son-in-law, Tom Martin of Jeffersonville, IN; brother, Theodore Kern (Lori) of Phoenix City, AL; sisters, Paula Kern Murphy (Gary) of Charlestown, IN, Margie Kern Sorg (Bobby) of Greenville, IN, Karen Morris Meadors of New Washington, IN, and Kathy Kern Schuster (Buddy) of Jeffersonville, IN; step-sister, Teri Kleber (Johnny) of Louisville, KY; grandchildren;
Shane Kern, Jordan Kern, Daisy Kern, Kyle Kern, Marisa Kern, Adalynn Kern, Pvt., Jacob Martin, and Justin Martin.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 1pm at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial to follow in the Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Saturday from 3pm to 8pm, and after 10am on Sunday.
