Kenneth 'Kenny' Howard Jones, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on September 11, 1935, in Charlestown, Indiana, Kenny lived a life characterized by devotion, love, and a strong sense of duty.
Kenny proudly served in the United States Air Force, where he held the esteemed rank of Retired Master Sergeant, serving as a Vehicle Operations Superintendent. His military service was a point of great pride for him, illustrating both his commitment to his country and his steadfast character.
A man of many interests and passions, Kenny was known for his headstrong personality. He shared a deep love for the outdoors, which was evident in his hobbies that included riding roller coasters, camping, fishing, and spending countless hours mowing his lawn. He cherished the time spent traveling the world alongside his beloved wife of over 70 years, Violet, creating unforgettable memories during their adventures together.
He is survived by his daughter, Penny (Russ) Dewes; grandchildren Christina (Thomas) Miller and David Welsh; great-grandchildren Trinity, Lexi, Celeste, Dylan, Deliah, and Daphne; as well as his stepbrother, Earl Trimble. Kenny's family was his treasure, and he enjoyed spending as much of his time as he could fostering close relationships with each of them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Inez Jones; his dear wife, Violet V. Jones; his daughter, Joyce Jones; and his brother, James Jones. The legacy of love and dedication he leaves behind will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Grayson Funeral Home in New Washington, Indiana. Following the visitation, a burial service will take place at Scottsburg Cemetery at 1:00 PM.
Due to travel restrictions and situations, Kenny's family loving asked that donations be made to any local Hospice providing service of your choice. They are truly angels among us.
