The family of Juanita Fay (Coulter) Pierce Combs is deeply saddened to announce her passing on April 10, 2026, at the age of 91. She was a resident of Charlestown, Indiana, and retired from Western Auto after 44 years, where she worked alongside her best friend, Wilma Mangels.
Juanita touched the hearts of everyone she met. She was truly a blessing. She loved taking photos and making copies to share, and she never missed sending a card for any occasion. She gave the very best hugs. Juanita enjoyed cooking for her family and was known for her amazing banana pudding. She also loved watching Wheel of Fortune, The Price Is Right, RFD-TV music shows, Larry’s Country Diner and University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball. More than anything, Juanita loved Jesus, her family, and her friends, and their friends, and their families, and everyone she met. She was the definition of love, life, and faith.
Juanita will be lovingly remembered by her brother, Ron (Terry) Coulter, and his son, Billy (Miranda) Florence. Her children: Cecil “Cisco” Pierce and Debra Pierce Rainwater Bonsett. Her grandchildren: Billy Pierce; Kara Rainwater (Brian) Barrett; Jimmy (Scarlett) Pierce; Amanda Pierce; Falen (Jake) Gotler; and Riley (Burgan) Noble. Her great-grandchildren: Dylan (Isabelle) Pierce; Mila (Marcus) Hall; Rayne and Blake Barrett; Cooper, Gleason, and Maverick Mikesell; Laryssa and Jensen Nickell; Dillon and Olive Gotler; and Oakley and Jensen Noble. Great-great-grandchild: Vash Hall. Her stepchildren: Carolyn (Ed) Weddle; Dovie (Mike) Stidham; Jannie Stidham; and Lisa Stollings, along with several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved very much.
Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Omer C. Combs; stepson, Olan Combs; siblings, Charles Coulter, Norma Jean Johnson, and Barbara Miller; and her granddaughter, Jennifer Pierce.
Juanita attended North Charlestown Church of God. She also enjoyed watching Charles Stanley on TV and services from Ephesus Baptist Church online on Sundays when she was unable to attend in person.
Visitation will be held at Grayson Funeral Home, 893 High Street, Charlestown, on Sunday, April 19, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and again on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A Celebration of Juanita’s Life will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by burial in Charlestown Cemetery.
