Joyce Faye Moreland, 68, of Charlestown, passed away Friday, November 15, 2013 at her home after her heroic battle with breast cancer.
She was born on March 7, 1945 to Sylvester and Mary Catherine (Hayes) Grote in Louisville, KY. She was a factory worker and attended St. Michaels Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Michael Grote.
Survivors include her daughter, Tracie Moreland of Charlestown, IN; sons, Brian Moreland, James Moreland both of Charlestown, IN, and Eugene Moreland of Henryville, IN; brother, David Grote of Ft. Myers, Fl; sisters, Bobbie Brooks, Mary Jane Fletcher both of Charlestown, IN, Shirley Schultz of Ft. Myers, FL, Marilynn Dunn of Piqua, OH, Janet Bayens, Patty Hartman, Vicky Hoover all of Leitchfield, KY, and Jackie Peay of Pittsburgh, PA; 7 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30am at the Grayson Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the St. Michaels Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 11am to 8pm, and after 9am on Tuesday.
