Joyce Ann (Deaton) Keown

Joyce Ann Keown, 64, passed into eternal life with her family by her side on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Floyd Memorial Hospital.

She was born on April 4, 1949 to Edward Deaton and Mary (Barrett) Pierce in Scott Co., IN.  Joyce was a loving and devoted wife and friend.  She loved spending time with her children, and grandchildren. Joyce was a very active and hardworking woman. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, the race track, fishing, mushroom hunting, and anything that involved spending time with her family. She was a production worker for Aisin Manufacturing Inc. in Seymour, IN. She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Pierce; father, Ed Deaton;  sons, John and Douglas Klakamp; brother, Eugene Barrett; sister, Maxiene Durham

Survivors include her husband, Michael Dale Keown, Sr. of Lexington, IN; Sons, Dan W. Klakamp and Rob G. Klakamp (Samantha) both of Freetown, IN; step-son, Michael Dale Keown, Jr. of Lexington, IN; daughter, Mary Carpenter of Seymour, IN; grandchildren, Ashley Proffitt, Jared Proffitt, Courtney Carpenter, Caleb Hankins, and Mia Hankins; extended family, Frances Keown and family, Gary Brown, and co-workers at Aisin Manufacturing.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 12pm at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial to follow in the Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10am to 8pm, and after 9am on Friday.
