Jose Refugio Rodriguez Sandoval

Jose Refugio Rodriguez Sandoval, 82, of Charlestown, IN passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Clark Memorial hospital in Jeffersonville, IN.  He was born on October 14, 1939, in Zacatecas, Mexico to Gregory and Josephine Rodriguez Sandoval.  Refugio worked as a laborer in grape processing, drying them to make raisins.

Refugio is survived by his daughters, Virginia, Maria, Martha, Angelica, and Guadalupe; his sons, Jose Israel, Juan Carlos, and Jose Refugio; and 4 brothers.  He was also blessed with 25 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 60 plus years, Rogelia Mejia de Rodrigues; one brother and one sister.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Charlestown, IN.  Burial will follow at Charlestown Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Tuesday evening October 26, 2021, from 4:00 pm till 8:00 pm at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, and again on Wednesday morning from 9:00 am till 9:30 am also at Grayson Funeral Home.
